<p>It’s not a particularly hard job to work out <strong>how to get healthy</strong>, just start doing the things healthy people do.</p>
<p>If you first want to work out just how healthy you are there are a few places to go.</p>
<p>The first port of call could be your doctor who’ll be able to determine if you’re so unhealthy you’ve got medical problems.</p>
<p>The second port of call is your fitness practitioner to find out how aerobically fit, strong and flexible you are. If you’re not fit then chances are you’re not all that healthy, or you’re on the way to poor health. This is a step usually left out of the health assessment process.</p>
<p>It would also be worth while going to your naturopath to check out whether a lifetime of poor eating has left you in poor health.</p>
<p>Regardless of your state of health there’s a lot you can do for yourself to get healthy.</p>
<p><strong>The three great body system dysfunctions of our time are:</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>metabolic</li>
<li>musculo-skeletal</li>
<li>psychological</li>
</ol>
<p>You’ll know them by their symptoms.</p>
<p>The common symptoms of <strong>metabolic dysfunction</strong> are; elevated blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels, the accumulation of fat around your body, feeling depressed, tired and lacking in energy, stiffening up … You’ve got a diet and exercise problem.</p>
<p>The first of the how to get healthy secrets is to restore poor metabolic function to good, embark on a regular and systematic aerobic exercise program and change your diet.</p>
<p>On the diet front, lay off the garbohydrates, fat and flour, fat and sugar and fat, flour and sugar. You won’t die! You’ll lose fat from around your body, you’ll feel more energized. You’ll have less headaches.</p>
<p>The symptom of <strong>musculo-skeletal dysfunction</strong> is lower back and other joint pain. The principle cause? Motion starvation. You don’t move enough.</p>
<p>The second of the how to get healthy secrets is to embark on a regular and systematic strength and flexibility training program. To improve your flexibility you can’t go past yoga, it’s been around for thousands of years. There are strength exercises you can do at home and the gym.</p>
<p>The symptoms of psychological dysfunction range from feelings of sadness, grief, anger, frustration, unhappiness …, down to being stressed out of your brain or feeling blue. These are normal healthy emotions to experience when things aren’t going your way, but if the feelings persist, then the counsellor or a good personal development program may be just the shot to lead you out of the maze. Even a holiday may help.</p>
<p>Clinical depression is a different kettle of fish. Some of it may be physiologically generated through a lack of aerobic activity or omega 3 fats. Some of it may be caused by thought processes that have gone awry.</p>
<p>The third of the how to get healthy secrets is to improve your mental health by embarking on a rigorous personal development program, upping your aerobic activity and omega 3 fat intake, cleaning up your life, including your desk at work, your house, your garden and your bedroom; immersing yourself in a favourite hobby, spending more time with friends, taking a 21 day away-from-home holiday &#8230; If you haven’t got any friends, get a dog.</p>

<p>If you’re like me, I sometimes find myself asking the question &#8220;why can’t I sleep&#8221; or &#8220;how much sleep do I need&#8221; anyway and also want to know &#8220;how to go to sleep fast&#8221;, then maybe it&#8217;s time for a wake up call to find out more about natural sleeping remedies.</p>
<p><strong>Often I can&#8217;t get to sleep for a range of reasons, maybe because:</strong></p>

<li>I got too many things on the mind;</li>

But while taking drugs to fix short-term need of getting a night sleep may be good to get clear of current commitments, it does not really give your body a healthy solution to a problem that might actually be a more serious case of insomnia if you are not sleeping on a regular basis.</p>

Your adenoids and tonsils may also be involved in the noise making activity.  That’s one reason why many non-snorers are known to create a racket when they are sick or congested.</p>
<p>When you sleep, your body relaxes deeply. Even your internal body parts take a break. Your throat muscles relax and when that happens, your airway closes partially. If you add an obstruction of some sort to that natural closing of the airway, snoring can result.</p>
<p>The hanging uvula and soft palate are vibrating on top of a partially constricted airway, which doesn’t really explain why you might be snoring in the first place.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: left;">Some potential snoring causes.</h3>
<ul>
<li>You may have a naturally narrow throat.  When you relax the natural closing of the airway may encourage snoring. This genetic cause of snoring probably isn’t the most common explanation for a loud evening, but it may be part of the story.</li>
<li>Carrying extra weight or fat in the neck can also cause a more restricted airway. That will, obviously, encourage snoring.</li>
<li>Age naturally creates a narrowing of air passages, which makes snoring more likely.</li>
<li>Smoking is a potential cause of snoring.  When you smoke, muscles relax.</li>
<li>Irregularities with the nasal passageways may cause labored breathing and snoring.</li>
<li>Enlarged tonsils or adenoids may create airway obstructions that lead to more vibrations.</li>
<li>Those with long soft palates or extended uvulas are far more likely to suffer from snoring than are others.</li>
<li>Consumption of alcohol can cause snoring, as can some types of medication.</li>
<li>The culprit for snoring is over-relaxation which leads to additional airway closure.</li>
<li>Sleep position can also play a role in snoring.  When you sleep on your back, your throat’s flesh may relax</li>
<li>and block your airway more than when on your stomach or side.</li>
<li>Propping your head up on pillows may also create an angle that will contribute to blocking your airways, encouraging snoring.</li>
</ul>

<p>It seems that using raw honey definitely has greater nutrient that using refined sugar that has no nutrient value. However both are calorie dense, which means that eating large amounts of either while not exercising is go a good idea if you are concerned about increasing body weight. As honey is absorbed into the body quickly, it could be a better than sugar if you need quick energy for exercise.</p>
<p>According to this eBook, there are many uses of honey beyond the question “honey vs sugar”, some of which are unexpected that seem to have explored and developed since people first stated experimenting with honey 7000 BC.</p>
<p>The medical uses of honey may not be just for your Immune or digestion system, but for many other unexpected but everyday situations. However, there seems to be real health and medical benefits of honey use due to the fact that honey is naturally absorbed into the body and can used with other ingredients such as cinnamon, vinegar or lemon juice. Mainly because of the natural qualities and characteristics of raw honey, which is in unprocessed state, that retains vitamins and nutrients.<br />
Many honey recipes aim to assist with aliments such as improving digestion, cholesterol, immune system and weight loss to name few from the eBooks’ list of honey uses.</p>
<p>However, due to today food processing methods and requirements, there is a concern about choosing the most appropriate honey for specific uses. <li>1 cup sugar</li>
<li>1 egg</li>
<li>1/2 cup honey</li>
<li>1 teaspoon ground cinnamon</li>
<li>1/2 teaspoon ground cloves</li>
<li>1/4 teaspoon ground ginger</li>
<li>1 tablespoon water</li>
<li>1/2 teaspoon baking soda</li>
<li>2 1/3 cups flour</li>
<li>1/2 cup slivered almonds</li>
</ul>
<p>Mix sugar and honey in a bowl, beating well.  Add egg, cloves, ginger and cinnamon and beat well. Dissolve the baking soda in water and add it to the honey mixture.  Stir in flour and almonds, mixing well.<br />
Press dough into a greased 13 x 9 baking dish and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.  Cool and cut into squares.</p>
<p><strong>Honey Basil Sauce </strong></p>
<ul style="margin: 0px 0px 0px 40px;">
<li>3 tablespoons chopped onion</li>
<li>1/4 cup butter or margarine</li>
<li>1/4 cup honey</li>
<li>2 tablespoons lemon juice</li>
<li>1 teaspoon dried basil</li>
</ul>
<p>Sautee onion in butter until onion is translucent. Stir in remaining ingredients and bring to boil. Serve over carrots, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts or other favored vegetable.</p>
